Welcome

Eco-Schools

Eco-Schools at St Mary's

Through our Eco-Schools, pupils learn about environmental issues and develop practical solutions that make a real difference both within school and in the wider community. Our dedicated Eco-School Committee, made up of enthusiastic pupils from across the school, leads the way in identifying environmental priorities and driving positive change.

We focus on key themes including waste reduction and recycling, energy conservation, water usage, biodiversity, and healthy living. Pupils are involved in exciting initiatives such as maintaining our school polytunnel, monitoring energy use  and raising awareness through assemblies. These hands-on experiences help children understand their responsibility as global citizens and develop skills in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

Our commitment to sustainability is embedded across the curriculum, with environmental themes woven into lessons and projects throughout the year.

By participating in Eco-Schools, our pupils are not only learning about the environment, they are actively shaping a more sustainable future for everyone
